On Wednesday morning, Academy Street Elementary School students participated in National Walk to School Day. The annual event encouraged the school community to enjoy a healthy start to the morning while highlighting the benefits of walking and pedestrian safety.
To support the event, our Crossing Guard ensured safe crossings for all participants, and Mrs. Beard was waiting on the sidewalk to welcome the students as they arrived on foot.
By walking instead of driving, the Academy Street community helped reduce morning traffic congestion in the drop-off zones and around the building. The event served as a practical reminder of the health benefits of daily exercise and the importance of practicing safe pedestrian habits every day.
Thank you to all the families who participated and helped coordinate the morning routes to make the event safe and successful for our students.
