Bayport-Blue Point School District held its annual Superintendent’s Conference Day on Sept. 1, welcoming staff back for a day of connection and preparation for the new school year.
Superintendent Robert E. Haas spoke to staff about what it means to belong in Bayport-Blue Point and shared his appreciation for the support he has received. “There is no better place to come to work,” said Mr. Haas. “And it is because over the years, the support, the guidance, that so many people in this room have shown me, have shown my family, I cannot thank everyone enough.” He went on to say, “That is my goal for everyone in this room. From the new hires to the people who are in their last year, that this place feels like a home to you.”
The district also recognized several staff members for their contributions. Stephanie Eberhard-Holgerson was presented with the Teacher of the Year Award in recognition of her innovative and compassionate leadership and mentorship. Jimmy Hook, a 38-year veteran of the district, was honored as Employee of the Year. Mr. Haas also recognized staff members celebrating 20, 25 and 30 years of service to the district.
The day continued with professional development sessions, faculty meetings and classroom setup as staff prepared for a successful start to the 2026-27 school year.
