BBP’s Board of Education recognized the district’s outstanding student-musicians during its March 31 meeting, honoring their talent and achievements in prestigious regional and state music ensembles.
Students were acknowledged for their selection to the Long Island String Festival Association (LIFSA), including Joseph A., Cameron G., Mikaela S., Clara S., and Eric S. These students were commended for their excellence in string performance and their commitment to advancing their musical skills.
Special recognition was given to Francesco S. for being selected to the New York State School Music Association(NYSSMA) All-State ensemble, one of the highest honors a student-musician can achieve in New York State. Francesco S. was also recognized as part of the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education(NYSCAME)/Suffolk All-County ensemble alongside Willem A., Michaela D., Kaylee D., Alexander V., Hannah W., and Jackson Z.
Additional honors included selection to the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association (SCMEA) All-County groups. Kaylee D. was recognized for All-County Jazz, while numerous students were named to Division I, including Eedy A., Aria B., Isabella D., Thomas D., Mason G., Graham H., Emma H., Katherine H., Sophie H., Genevieve J., Harper K., Andrew K., Kaleigh M., Nola P., Vera S., Clara S., Alexander T., and Kevin Z.
Students recognized in SCMEA Division II included Janey A., Fiona B., Jameson H., Skylar J., Michael M., and Ella M. Division III honorees included Joseph A., Juliana C., Landon H., Conor M., and Eric S. Cecilia A. was also celebrated for her selection to the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association All-County Percussion Ensemble.
The Board of Education commended each student for their hard work and commitment to musical excellence. Their accomplishments reflect not only individual talent but also the strength of the district’s music program and the support of its dedicated educators.
