At the Dec. 9 Board of Education meeting, the Bayport-Blue Point School District honored two outstanding varsity teams for their remarkable accomplishments. The Bayport-Blue Point High School varsity football team was recognized for being named the 2025 Long Island Champions, while the girls varsity tennis team was celebrated for earning the title of 2025 New York State Champions.
Prior to the meeting, the community gathered along Snedecor Avenue for a spirited parade. Athletes waved from passing trucks as families, friends and neighbors lined the sidewalks to cheer on the championship teams.
