On Oct.10, Blue Point Elementary School held a special assembly to celebrate its designation as a 2024-2026 National PTA School of Excellence, an honor awarded to only 330 schools nationwide and just 24 in New York State. This recognition reflects the school’s outstanding commitment to fostering strong family-school partnerships that support student success and well-being.
The celebration was filled with school pride and positivity. The Blue Point Elementary cheer team began the event with an energetic performance, setting the tone for the celebration. Students had previously submitted posters and essays reflecting on what makes Blue Point Elementary special, and winners were announced during the assembly.
Students, staff and PTA executive board members in attendance were also treated to a video featuring student interviews answering the question, “What makes BPE excellent?” The celebration concluded with the recognition of one student from each class who was nominated by teachers for exemplifying positivity.
As a symbol of this prestigious honor, the National PTA presented the school and PTA with an official banner, which will be hung in the building as a reminder of the shared commitment to excellence.
