Under sunny skies and with school spirit at an all-time high, the Bayport-Blue Point community came together to celebrate Homecoming 2025 on Sept. 20.
The day began with a spirited parade that brought together students, families and neighbors. Starting at Blue Point Elementary and traveling down Railroad Avenue to the high school, the parade was led by the Bayport Fire Department and featured the varsity cheerleaders, youth football and cheer teams, the James Wilson Young Middle School band, the Bayport-Blue Point High School band, the homecoming court and a colorful array of student-designed, video game-themed floats.
At Bob Sullivan Field, a packed crowd of students, staff, alumni and community members gathered to cheer on the Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms in their matchup against the Shoreham-Wading River Wildcats. Before kickoff, the Bayport-Blue Point marching band delivered a heartwarming performance dedicated to beloved community member Lenore Ringer-Prezioso.
Halftime brought more excitement, featuring performances by the varsity cheerleaders and the debut of the school’s new dance team. The district also honored its 2025 Hall of Fame inductees: educator, coach and administrator Neil Zarcone, community contributor Stephen Cannone, Class of 2014 baseball player Jack Piekos and Class of 2011 lacrosse player Loren Generi. The ceremony concluded with the crowning of Zoe B. and Vincent S. as this year’s homecoming queen and king.
Capping off the celebration, the Phantoms dominated the field with a 48-0 victory over Shoreham-Wading River.
