Bayport-Blue Point High School’s peer educators help fifth graders transition to middle school

Throughout the school year, fifth graders from Academy Street, Sylvan Avenue and Blue Point elementary schools have visited the Bayport-Blue Point High School Wellness Center to participate in sessions led by the high school’s peer educators. These visits provided valuable opportunities for younger students to connect with positive role models and engage in meaningful conversations.

On June 11, the peer educators hosted a special interactive workshop, filled with engaging activities and games, designed to support Academy Street Elementary’s fifth graders as they prepare for their transition to middle school.

The Peer Education Program is designed to empower students with the tools to identify, prevent and address bullying and unhealthy communication. By promoting acceptance and encouraging inclusive behaviors, the program helps create a more supportive school environment. The peer educators work with elementary and middle school students to help them grow as respectful classmates and responsible students.
