Flag Day

In recognition of Flag Day, which is observed annually on June 14, BBP elementary students took part in a special early celebration to honor the history and meaning of the American flag. Students learned that Flag Day commemorates June 14, 1777, when the Continental Congress adopted the first official flag of the United States.

During the celebration, students explored the symbolism behind the flag and gained a deeper appreciation for this important national symbol. They discovered that:

  • The 13 stripes represent the original 13 colonies.

  • The 50 stars represent the 50 states of the United States.

  • The color red symbolizes bravery and strength.

  • The color white symbolizes purity and innocence.

  • The color blue symbolizes vigilance, perseverance, and justice.

Students reflected on the values represented by the American flag while learning about an important part of our nation’s history. BBP is proud to provide opportunities for students to connect classroom learning with meaningful traditions and civic pride.Flag Day CelebrationsFlag Day CelebrationsFlag DayFlag Day CelebrationsFlag DayFlag Day
