Dear SAE Families,

Welcome to Sylvan Avenue Elementary School, a wonderful place to learn and grow! We are very proud to service UPK-5 elementary school with 300 students. Our school prides itself on focusing on the needs of each student and making the school experience one that will inspire them to become life-long learners. We know the importance of making school a place where children want to come to learn about their favorite subjects, friends, community, and world. Our dedicated and talented teachers and support staff strive to make each day at our school one that challenges students to learn something new; encourages them to feel good about their efforts; and helps them to realize just how important each is to our school family.

Sylvan Avenue has a very active PTA that generously supports our instructional program. Throughout the year, our PTA brings us many terrific learning experiences through the Arts-in-Education Program. In addition, they support other school functions by funding “extras” that make the events very special and memorable. They hold Family Fun Nights several times a year—a great way for families to socialize, have fun, and build community spirit.

The entire Sylvan Avenue staff is extremely dedicated to the success of every child. We recognize the value and importance of the home-school connection and encourage parents to play an active role in the education of their child. We welcome the opportunity to work with you to strengthen the home-school partnership and to make a difference in the academic, social, and emotional growth of our children.
