Before spring recess, kindergarteners at Blue Point Elementary learned all about poetry! They learned that poems are made up of rhythm, rhyme and other artistic language to show emotions. Students looked at examples of poems, pointed out where they found rhymes, and were introduced to the famous Shel Silverstein and his books.
After the exercises, they tried writing their own poems, thinking about what they hear, see, smell, touch and feel in the springtime!
