Dear BPE Families,
Welcome back! Denise Witmer said, "A new school year means new beginnings, new adventures, new friendships, and new challenges. The slate is clean and anything can happen." It's always exciting thinking about the future and getting ready for another exciting year creating new memories at BPE!

I hope this letter finds you happy and healthy after these summer months. Hopefully, you were able to spend time with family and friends, creating wonderful memories for our students. The teachers have been doing the same but are ready to welcome you back into their classrooms. I have been spending summer days/nights at my nephews' baseball games, enjoyed some time in Louisville, Kentucky, been reading A LOT, and have been working on many exciting things for the upcoming year. I'm excited to bring back some of BPE's favorite events and create new ones as well. 2022-2023 just might be the best year yet!

There is a lot of information that gets sent home to prepare for the beginning of the year. Please look through everything carefully and contact us if you have any questions/concerns.

Our first day of school is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Students will be going straight to their classrooms starting at 9:05. There will be plenty of faculty and staff to help students find their ways. Like last year, there will be many photo opportunities in front of the building so get there a couple of minutes early to take advantage!
Communication is very important in making a positive home-school connection. There are many ways the school communicates throughout the year. Teachers send home newsletters, letters, and/or emails on a consistent basis and are always willing to meet to discuss any concerns. As a building, there are many ways to stay informed:

  • Weekly Newsletter: Every Sunday around 1pm, you will receive an email from me with how the previous week went, pictures of students, district/building flyers, as well as what's coming up in the future..
  • Monthly Calendar: In the beginning of the month, a calendar of events going on in the building is sent home via email.
  • Twitter: @BPESchool This is the best way to see what’s going on in the building on a daily basis. There you will see pictures of students working and having fun in school. There will also be reminders and updates to keep you informed in a quick way. If you'd like to opt your student out from his/her picture being on Twitter, please let me know.
  • Remind: This app is used for reminders and for emergencies and the messages go right to your phone.  To join send a text bpefam to 81010.

BPE Students, How are you feeling today? "I feel great, yes!" I hope you are ready to hop on the Energy Bus for another amazing year or maybe for your first year at BPE! You are the driver of your bus and only YOU can make the turns to make it the best year yet! We are all so excited to have you back in the building. You have been missed by everyone!! The school is ready for you, the classrooms are ready for you and most importantly, the faculty, staff, and I are ready for you! Enjoy the rest of your summer and see you soon! You're awesome! You're the best!! You rock!!!
