The Bayport-Blue Point School District recognized Dana Teri, payroll clerk and purchasing agent, as the 2021-2022 Employee of the Year. Sadly, Ms. Teri passed away in December 2021 after a severe battle with cancer.

Ms. Teri was an integral part of the day-to-day business activities for the district for 30 years and was considered a point of contact for business-related issues. She was also a wealth of information surrounding the business and district offices during her tenure.

Not only did Ms. Teri work for the district but raised her family in the community. While her children attended Bayport-Blue Point Schools, Ms. Teri volunteered her time with the PTA.

During Superintendent’s Conference Day, held on Aug. 29, Superintendent of Schools Timothy Hearney described Ms. Teri. “Ms. Teri lived and breathed Bayport-Blue Point and was always the fiercest advocate for our schools and community. Ms. Teri volunteered her time often. Professionally and personally, she was the first person to help if you were in need. Ms. Teri exemplified professionalism and dedication to our district at all times.”
