2015-2016 Indicators of Success

  • A tracking system has been developed to monitor all curriculum writing that is done in the district to ensure a consistency of core expectations among similar classrooms across the district.
  • The scope and sequence for all recently written curriculum is online for parents to access to develop a better understanding of the expectations that have been set forth for students.
  • Pre-K/K resources for parents have been created.
  • The “Gifted and Talented” link on the website has been revised to include parent resources and FAQs.
  • K-12 ELA and math curriculum has been enhanced based on discussions with teachers during common planning meetings.
  • The grades 3-5 enrichment curriculum has been enhanced to clearly support the core curriculum.

  • Initial planning for the alignment of new social studies standards with our curriculum, as well as the full implementation of grade 2 Fundations.
  • Initial planning for the full implementation of the Teachers College writing project.
  • Continued work with district technology teachers, as well as outside partners from Stony Brook University, FNI and others to develop a curriculum that will align with the opening of the new STEAM lab at the middle school in the fall of 2017.
