Fundraising Efforts for Haiti Relief |
Students from the National Honor Society have initiated fundraising events for Haiti relief. After the earthquake, members of the NHS looked for ways they could help, and the idea of selling t-shirts during lunch hours was born. Georgia Bates designed the shirt, and students from the NHS volunteer to man the table during their lunch periods. Pictured is Jacob Occhiogrosso holding one of the shirts during his 7th period lunch. Business has been brisk because students have sold over 100 t-shirts to date. The NHS will continue its fundraising efforts for Haiti relief by donating proceeds from the t-shirt sales and the Dodgeball Tournament on March 23. Club mentor, Mrs. Donna Edgar, said that because the dire situation in Haiti is expected to continue for some time, fundraising efforts will continue throughout the rest of this school year. NHS students appreciate the support of students, faculty, and staff in helping to make a dent in the enormous needs of Haitian citizens. |
