Superintendent's Message

Dear Community Residents,

As we face tumultuous times as a nation, state, and community, there is no doubt that our district will face an even greater challenge of how to fund education without burdening the already overburdened taxpayer. This delicate balance will become even more difficult as the state faces large deficits that will certainly impact the district’s state aid revenue. We rely on the $16.4 million that we receive from New York State to maintain our programs and keep our taxes at their lowest possible levels.

Despite the financial challenges we will face, the Board, District Administration, and staff are committed to providing all children with an exceptional education. We will continue to foster greater student achievement by focusing on leadership growth, professional development for teachers, integration of new technologies, and reallocation of resources based on the constant application of high-quality, research-based teaching. We remain relentless in our pursuit of alternative revenue sources to alleviate the tax burden of our residents. Our goal is to ensure that all student learning exceeds state standards and aligns with ever-changing economic, political, and social conditions, which will require our students to develop creativity, practice higher order, critical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as adapt to rapidly changing technologies.

Through the pursuit and focus of our district’s goals, we will strive to provide our children with a quality education that they deserve and need in this ever-changing world. In hard times, we must all tighten our belts and provide the leadership necessary to navigate the formidable challenges we face in today’s economy. It is only through the hard work and dedication of our Board and staff and the continued support of this community that education remains a priority. I thank you for that support. Please feel free to provide any feedback or suggestions, as we want to hear from you.

We encourage you to visit our website often as new information is added and changed daily.

Sincerely,

Anthony J. Annunziato, Ed. D.
