As many of their peers are just beginning the process for selecting what college or university to attend post graduation, three Bayport-Blue Point High School student-athletes have not only already made that commitment but have also been afforded the chance to continue to perform in the sport they love – lacrosse. This fall, Brian Ward, Billy Baker and Kaitlyn Leahy all signed National Letters of Intent with some of the nation’s premier colleges and universities.

“This achievement is indicative of the work these students have completed at the youth, interscholastic and varsity levels as well as the commitment they demonstrated in the classroom. Not only are these schools known for their athletic programs but they are also recognized as fantastic academic institutions,” stated District Director of Physical Education, Health and Interscholastic Sports Timothy Mullins

With their proud family members looking on, Brian signed with Ohio State, where he will play on the boys lacrosse team; Billy signed with Stevens Tech, where he will play on the boys lacrosse team; and Kaitlyn will be a member of the girls lacrosse team at Stony Brook University.
