Bayport-Blue Point High School junior Kerrigan Miller has claimed one of the 18 prestigious spots on the 2015 U.S. Women’s National Under-19 Team.

Kerrigan, a captain and mid-field player for BBP’s lacrosse team, entered the pool of 800 national candidates before joining the 25-member training team earlier this year and ultimately being selected to the elite program. She is also a three-time All-County player and was on the school’s County Championship team in 2014.

“It is such an honor to be named to this team,” she said. “I have such a fun time playing lacrosse and am looking forward to improving my skills surrounded by the top players from across the country. It is truly one of the best things to happen to me.”

Kerrigan will join Team USA as it defends its fifth consecutive world title at the Federation of International Lacrosse Under-19 World Championship this summer in Edinburgh, Scotland.
