A Winning Homecoming

Blue, gold and school spirit blanked the community during this year’s homecoming celebration in late October.

The weekend’s events began with a high school pep rally on Friday afternoon followed by a school dance, at which time Patrick Liu was crowned homecoming king. The annual parade, which began at Blue Point Elementary and ended at the entrance to the high school football stadium, was widely attended by community members the following morning. The event featured student-musicians from the elementary and secondary schools, along with floats created by the high school grade levels, cheerleaders and candidates for homecoming queen.

The BBP Phantoms kicked off the big game with three rushing touchdowns in the first half against the Center Moriches Red Devils. At halftime, Hannah Giannico was crowded this year’s queen and the senior class was named the winner of the float contest with their Disney/Pixar inspired “Up” entry.

The strong first half carried through to the remainder of the game and ended in BBP advancing their record to 5-1 with a score of 50-14.
