In an effort to reinforce their already robust literary skills, students of all grade levels from Blue Point Elementary School recently welcomed New York Times bestselling children’s author Sarah Albee for an informative workshop session.

Mrs. Albee, who is the author of acclaimed children’s works such as “Dog Days of History,” “George Washington: First President” and her most recent book, “North America,” shed light onto her creative process with the attentive students. During the presentation, she informed students that her inspiration is drawn from reading, traveling, talking to experts and taking diligent notes throughout her travels.

In addition to the lecture portion of her visit, Mrs. Albee hosted a question and answer session with the students, as they asked insightful questions such as “Why do you choose to write nonfiction over fiction?” and “If you wrote fiction, what would you choose to write about?”
