Bayport-Blue Point High School's National Honor Society and Ecology Club teamed up with peers from Sayville and Islip high schools this winter to participate in a community clothing drive to benefit homeless teens. The effort, called "Teens for Jeans," was sponsored by the South Shore Community Organization’s Leadership in the Community Program.

Combined, the participating groups collected 553 pairs of gently used jeans. The donations will be distributed to homeless shelters through local Aéropostale stores and DOsomething.org, the two establishments that originally created the project.
