HS Coordinates Collection Drive for Sandy Victims

The Bayport-Blue Point High School staff and students are working to ease the pain felt by the surrounding community as a result of the recent hurricane. On Wednesday, Nov. 14 and Thursday, Nov. 15, interested parties are invited to drop off donations at the high school dance gym between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Some of the most sought after donations include: bottled water, blankets, towels, batteries, diapers, warm gloves, canned goods, garbage bags, gift cards, pet food, school supplies and plastic containers.

High school students are invited to volunteer at the drop-off site during their lunch periods and after school. On the drop-off dates, the school has asked students and staff to wear the designated color of gold to show support for the relief effort. Each class has been asked to focus on donating certain items, in addition to gift cards. The requested items are the following:

Seniors: diapers, baby wipes, food
Juniors: towels, blankets
Sophomores: water, batteries
Freshman: dog/cat food, cleaning supplies
