As of this October, students at James Wilson Young Middle School have the chance to enter their school building ahead of the previously scheduled arrival time. Effective the week of October 22, the middle school doors now open as of 7:30 a.m. for students wishing to enter the cafeteria or library. Along with the new start time, breakfast is also available during these extended hours through the school’s regular meal service. Although access during the new arrival time is mostly limited to the two common areas listed above, students are permitted to access their lockers or attend extra help with the proper pass or permission.

“Our new extended middle school hours afford our students the chance to collaborate with peers or simply get a jump start on their day,” stated Interim Superintendent of Schools Neil Lederer. “Our schools are and always should be a welcoming place for our students, and I am happy to see so many of our students taking advantage of the new arrival time.”
