Bayport-Blue Point High School students enrolled in AnnMarie Allen’s and Gilles Desrochers’ French 5 and Advanced Placement French courses recently paid a visit to the fifth-grade classes at Blue Point Elementary School to engage in lessons and activities surrounding the foreign language.

During their visit, the upperclassmen shared with the fifth-graders common vocabulary phrases, such as the French way of saying “I like it,” “I don’t like it,” “please” and “thank you.” The high schoolers also presented the younger students with personalized French books in an effort to further their studies at this age.

Before concluding their visit, the fifth graders were given the opportunity to sample a taste of “Diabolo Menthe,” otherwise known as peppermint soda, a popular French beverage.
