Students of the District celebrated a love of learning by bringing characters to life that were both fictional and historical.

During the fourth-grade Sylvan Avenue Elementary School wax museum presentation, students researched and then dressed as famous historical characters.  All students took part in performing informative monologues for visitors to the “museum.” Characters on display ranged from politicians and actors to inventors and athletes.

Similarly, at Blue Point Avenue Elementary School, students took part in Character Day, a day in which children and faculty dressed as their favorite book characters and explored a variety of activities and discussions aimed at fostering a continued love of reading.
