Seventh-grade students at James Wilson Young Middle School recently gained valuable career advice and first-hand experience from various graduates of the Bayport-Blue Point community as part of the building’s “Career Day.”

Throughout the course of the day, the students rotated between classrooms and were able to hear from the following individuals about their career choices: Bayport Flower Houses owner Karl Auwaerter (’85), engineer Brian Bucklemore (’06), lawyer Chris Clayton (’84), real estate agent Brynn Elliot (’98), gluten-free baker Michelle Gillette Kelly (’94), state trooper Joe Liberatore (’11), physician’s assistant Lauren Lozier (’04), News 12 Sports Director/Anchor Kevin Maher (’93), chef Nicole Roarke (’97) and Blue Point Elementary School physical education teacher John Selvaggio (’01).

At the conclusion of each presenter’s detailed description about their career choice, the students were able to ask questions in order to jumpstart thoughts of their own career paths.
