The district, among many in the state, has been included in the 2016 State Comptroller’s list of districts ‘susceptible’ to fiscal stress. The district is placed at the low end of this scale and has increased our fiscal score on a yearly basis as a result of prudent financial efforts. Our inclusion on this list is due in part to the fact that we utilized district fund balance – our savings, in order to maintain our fiscal responsibility to tax payers and remain under a tight tax cap. We have worked to reduce expenses and identify efficiencies to improve operations and instruction districtwide, including being less dependent upon our reserve funds. With these continued improvements, the district projects our removal from this list as soon as next year.
