State DECA Medalists

Bayport-Blue Point High School’s DECA chapter performed extremely well during this year’s New York State Career Development Conference in Rochester.

At the event, three Bayport-Blue Point students earned top 10 honors in the contest’s test portion. This section required competitors to answer 100 questions in their respective areas of study within a one-hour time frame.

The district congratulates 10th-grader Ciara Joseph on her success in the subject of apparel and accessories marketing, as well as seniors Matteo Bracco and Paul Dreyer on their team placement in the area of business law and ethics.

According to the organization’s website, DECA is a co-curricular component of marketing education that provides a program of student activities related to marketing and marketing education. DECA provides opportunities for students to develop skills in the areas of vocational understanding, leadership development, civic consciousness and social intelligence.
