Memorable Trip for MS French Classes

The French class at Bayport-Blue Point’s James Wilson Young Middle School had the pleasure of traveling to Quebec earlier this year for a four-day learning experience. During the visit, the students increased their cultural and civic awareness. They also experienced educational growth, as they had the chance to practice their knowledge of French among native speakers.

After more than an eight-hour bus trip, the students began their studies in Montreal, where they were led by their tour guide Kathleen and participated in a workshop at CBC headquarters. During the workshop, the students learned what it takes to prepare a live news broadcast and attended the taping of a show.

Over the course of their stay, the students took in a number of sights and made countless memories. These included embarking on historical tours of old Montreal and Quebec City, and learning how Quebec has evolved since its discovery in 1608, as well as visiting Montmorency Falls, Canyon Sainte-Anne, the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre and the Montreal Biodome. They also sampled a bit of French cuisine when dining at the Sugar Shack on the Ile d’Orleans.
