On
Jan. 24, third grade students at Sylvan Avenue Elementary School functioned as teachers, educating
second graders about the various types of frogs they had studied.
Second
graders in Alison Purdy’s and Amy Minerva’s classes grouped up with
third graders in Lori Mandracchia’s and Patty Gorman’s classes, rotating
periodically so each second grader could learn about several different
frog species. This collaboration allowed the third graders to proudly
showcase their hard work and provided a great opportunity for mentorship
among the two grade levels.
